Hello my name is Perry Florio and I’m excited to join the team! I am from Long Island, NY but I’ve lived
here in Florence, SC since 2003. I played college hockey at Providence College then Northern Michigan
University. I was drafted by the LA kings in the 4th rouind of the 1985 NHL draft. I represented Team
USA in the 1985 World Jr. Chanmpionships. I played pro hockey from 1989-1995 with the Johnstown
Chiefs (ECHL) and Hershey Bears (AHL). I then coached professionally from 1997-2006 in the ECHL
and UHL. I am an avid fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and Minnesota Wild! My wife
teaches 5th grade here, I have daughter Katie who works in pro hockey in Chicago in Broadcasting and
a son Ryan who was a D1 pitcher at Mount St. Mary’s University until his graduation in May 2022. He is
now a Grad Assistant with the baseball program while he gets his Masters in Sports Management. Fun
fact about me; I was in a major motion picture, “Sudden Death”, with Jean Claude Van Dam.
